five | soulja boy [tellem]

I'll be the first to say this guy sucks dick and is pretty fucking annoying, but I will admit that I found him endearing on BET's Spring Bling: Soulja Boy's Playhouse. The skits in between his high-energy-ritalin'd out performances were pretty funny.

Or maybe I was just really high.

two | blockhead

as time goes on you will realize i am a big aesop rock supporter. so of course i could only support the genius who produced a bevy of aes' work & who opened for him at a festival in orlando that i attended this past fall. as the opening-opening act (black moth super rainbow followed) blockhead really impressed me. the music he presented had a chill, laid back vibe but still possessed an energy and a certain intrigue.

i have been listening to his album "music by cavelight" a lot and i have found that it is THE BEST album to [or at least attempt to] fall asleep to. it is jazzy, sexy, sweet, soft, thoughtful, haunting, and yet still hip-hop! it's a beautiful piece of work and you should all get your hands on it.

one | ghostface killah

I decided that the first person I wanted to highlight was GHOSTFACE KILLAH.
I feel like this man in highly under-appreciated and needs to be introduced to those of you not in the know. Even though he has yet to receive the attention from the charts like he SHOULD, he continues to create solid albums for his devoted fans. He hit me with fishscale, more fish, and the big doe rehab back to back to back and all I could do was sit in my room and digest everything he has to say.
One of Wu Tang’s greatest members, Ghost has managed to create an incredible solo career and is one of the most respected men in the biz. I love him and I want you to, too.

Here are some videos.

if you haven’t seen these mtv2 segments, you’ve really missed out!
